Crossing the Bridge:  A Jungian Approach to Adolescence

Based on the work of Jungian Analyst Kaspar Kiepenheuer, seminars emphasized his thesis that puberty is a time of danger. Further, that puberty is a model for the general process of human development and transformation. Through case presentations we will see that young people, in very different ways, become whole in the therapeutic process: using dream analysis, art, and sandplay in the journey to their depths.  Seminars will also include Kiepenheuer’s pathbreaking work on how children change parents; the body as mirror; death and transformation.

The Mirror of Venus:  A Spring Intensive & Retreat

Inspired by Edward Burne-Jones painting, The Mirror of Venus, we will sail into the world of Venus, the Roman goddess of love, beauty, and the sacred body. Beyond cosmetics and stereotypes, we will entertain the question: “What is beautiful?” And, what is reflected when we join together to gaze and ponder our image?  Through mask-making, movement, music, myth, and metaphor we will travel to and from Venus’ watery realm refreshed; with a new felt sense and understanding of The Feminine. April 2006.
